UCR Alumni: An Important Link to Our Past and Future

The Career Center is committed to providing a variety of services, resources, and events to our alumni. Whether you are a recent graduate in need of career assistance, an engaged professional interested in recruiting for your organization, or an alumnus simply wanting to give back and share your career journey with current students by way of mentoring or participating as a panelist in one of our many workshops and events – we welcome your continued participation with UCR!

Our center has an extensive list of available resources that can include access to an online database updated daily with literally hundreds of jobs, job fairs where you can meet personally with some of the region’s biggest employers, intimate workshops covering everything from interviewing skills to resume writing, computer stations with online access, counseling appointments and more.

As a more seasoned UCR graduate, we encourage you to remain part of the Highlander Career Network and share your professional experiences through job and internship programs, informational interviews, speaking opportunities and career fairs.

Alumni Packages and Fees

Effective July 1, 2013 there will be changes made to the structure of alumni packages and fees. We will have the new information up as soon as possible.

Members of the UCR Alumni Association receive a 20% discount on all services. Continue to our store for purchase.

JOB SEARCH PACKAGE - $10 / YEAR

This package includes access to: 

•       SCOTjobs - This is the UCR on-line job and internship database. Hundreds of jobs are available on line. It is updated on a daily basis.

 •       Job Fairs - The Career Center sponsors a number of job fairs during the academic year. Dates, location and company participants are posted on the UCR Career Center Web site

•       Workshops - Topics covered include interviewing skills, resume writing, job search strategies and more. Check the calendar for details.

RESUME CRITIQUE PACKAGE: - $25

This package includes:

•       A 30-minute appointment for a one-time resume critique, either by phone or in-person

•       Must email resume in advance of the appointment

•       Don’t forget to call 951-827-3631 to set-up an appointment with a counselor after you have purchased the package

The following package and purchases require consultation by career counselor. Please call the front desk at 951-827-3631 to set-up a 15-minute consultation appointment with a career counselor.

UCR HIGHLANDER PACKAGE - $125/YEAR

The Highlander Package includes all of the services listed above in the JOB SEARCH PACKAGE plus:

TWO counseling appointments which can be used for:

•       Resume critique

•       Interview coaching

•       Career decision-making discussion

•       Graduate school planning

•       One career assessment test

As an alumnus of UC Riverside, you offer current students a unique perspective about where a UCR diploma can take them and the opportunities and challenges you faced as a new graduate. Remain an integral part of the UCR family by:

• Sharing your industry or occupational experiences through informational interviews
• Posting jobs and internships at SCOTjobs for current students and fellow UCR alumni.
• Participating in Information Sessions sponsored by your company
• Speaking in classes or at special events such as Career Week or Alumni Career Day
• Encouraging your employer to recruit UCR students via On-Campus Interview Programs
• Registering your company for one of the Career Fair Events hosted by Career Center

Posting job and internship listings at UC Riverside is free. Job and internship listings are available any time to students online via our password-protected SCOTjobs site. Opportunities posted are exclusively for UCR students and UC alumni.
